FIELD TRIP PARTICIPANT GUIDELINES 

PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • FOLLOW ALL LAWS, REGULATIONS AND RULES, INCLUDING NO LITTERING
  • ALWAYS WATCH FOR OTHERS ABOVE, BELOW AND CLOSE BY WHEN COLLECTING OR HAMMERING
  • CLOSELY SUPERVISE ALL CHILDREN AND PETS
  • PRINT AND SIGN ANY WAIVER OF LIABILITY AS REQUIRED
  • PAY ANY REQUIRED FEES TO TRIP LEADER IN CASH
  • BE READY AND IN VEHICLE AT DEPARTURE TIME FROM MEETING SITE
  • HAVE A VEHICLE THAT MEETS THE MINIMUM TRIP VEHICLE GUIDELINES

PERSONAL SAFETY GUIDELINES:

  • PROPER CLOTHING, BOOTS, GLOVES, HAT AND SAFTEY GLASSES
  • PLENTY OF WATER, SUNCSCREEN AND MEDICAL KIT
  • WHEN CARAVANING, NEVER LOSE SITE OF VEHICLE IN FRONT OR BEHIND, GIVE THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF YOU PLENTY OF ROOM
  • NEVER LEAVE FOR OR ARRIVE AT TRIP SITE BEFORE TRIP LEADER
  • IF YOU LEAVE FIELD TRIP SITE BEFORE OR IF YOU PLAN TO STAY LATER THEN TRIP LEADER ALWAYS TELL TRIP LEADER OR OTHERS OF YOUR PLANS

COLLECTING INFORMATION:

  • LIMIT COLLECTING TO A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF SPECIMENS PER BLM OR OTHER REGULATIONS
  • IF YOU DIG A HOLE FILL IT IN
  • NATIONAL FOREST: HANDFUL OF SPECIMENS NOT TO EXCEED 10LBS
  • NATIONAL PARKS: NO COLLECTING ALLOWED
  • NATIONAL HISTORIC SITES: NO COLLECTING ALLOWED
  • WILDERNESS AREAS: NO COLLECTING ALLOWED
  • ARIZONA STATE TRUST LANDS: NO COLLECTING ALLOWED
  • AZ STATE PARKS: A PERSON MAY NOT DEFACE, INJURE, DESTROY, TAKE OR USE: PUBLIC FACILITY, PROPERTY, WILDLIFE, ANIMALS, PLANTS, ARCHEOLOGICAL, GEOLOGICAL OR HISTORICAL OBJECTS
  • NATIVE PLANT LAW IN ARIZONA PROHIBITS; DIGGING, SHOOTING, TAKING INCLUDING SKELETONS, SEEDS, FLOWERS AND MORE
